Favourite Fashion Dupes

So, in-keeping with the theme of wanting things that I simply cannot afford (unless they are moth bitten and on eBay), I decided to share some great duplicates of some designer and generally overpriced items that I have an ongoing obsession with. Don't think of them as rip-off's, they're just... inspired...

It was love at first sight when I saw this beautifully textured jumper hanging on the wall during my annual depressing 'why-can't-I-have-more-money' trip to Amercian Apparel. So I ran over and stared in horror at the £40 ($88) price tag whilst trying to look like I was contemplating whether to buy it or not, then swiftly fleeing the shop before the sale assistant came over. Anyway, I was looking on www.wholesale-dress.net for a pair of shoes, preferably under $3, when I found the EXACT clone of the jumper for... drum roll please... $20!! This certainly proves my love for cheap wholesale sites.

Next is another one of my all time favorites from American Apparel; the Riding Pant. This time I was declaring my love for these over Facebook and once again wincing at the price of £64 ($74)  to a horse mad friend when she called me an idiot and sent me a link to these: http://www.horsepowersportswear.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=5&zenid=e39817e5c19f9a8e529f09c76938d862, which she has in about 64 variations and wears them on a daily basis. And at £25 ($35) a pair I felt like quite an idiot too.

Another one of my recent obsessions has been the Alexander Wang Coco Duffel bag (I blame Lookbook.nu), but as most other teenage girls I don't have $850 lying around in my purse. And by complete chance, I was looking for leather bags on eBay when I found this PU duplicate for a nifty $35- almost a 25th of the price. Not too shabby eh?

Last but by no means least is the shoe icon of 2011; Mrs. Lita herself from Jeffrey Campbell (if you haven't heard of him before, I suggest you Google it before I shoot you). Admittedly I do own a pair of Jeffrey Campbell's Dippy shoe, but only because they were on sale at $70 (£43, which is pretty reasonable for a pair of shoes in England) but that's really as far as my limit goes for a pair of shoes, which is why I was rather disappointed at the price of $159 on Solestruck.com. But once again, eBay came to my rescue with an almost identical pair for $31.
